Steps to Getting Started
Your Admissions Journey Starts Here
At the Admissions Learning Group, we model everything you'll do in admissions — including how you get started. You’ll experience a version of the same process real students go through when applying to a college or university.

Step 1: The Interview Conversation
Once you express interest, you’ll schedule an admissions interview and learn all about the field.
This is where we get to know you — your goals, your experience, and what draws you to admissions. It’s also your first opportunity to practice the same type of conversation you’ll one day have with prospective students.
Step 2: The Essay & Enrollment
If we both decide the program feels like a good fit, you’ll submit a short essay (about 200 words) describing why you want to complete this program.

Be honest, be specific, and talk about:
-
Your goals for your future career in admissions
-
Why you’re excited to learn and grow
-
What motivates you when things get challenging

Your essay helps you clarify your purpose — and gives us insight into how to best support you.
After your essay is approved, you’ll complete your program enrollment and payment.
Step 3: Orientation & Mentor Match
Once enrolled, you’ll be scheduled for a brief orientation session. During orientation, you’ll:
-
Review what to expect during training
-
Learn how sessions and assignments are structured
-
Confirm the best days and times to meet with your mentor
From there, you’ll receive your official start date and begin accessing your project based and mentored learning.
Step 4: Begin Your Immersive Training
You’ll step right into the admissions world — learning through guided practice, mentorship, and real-world scenarios designed to help you excel in your first admissions role.

By the end of the program, you won’t just understand how admissions works — you’ll be ready to do the work with confidence and professionalism.
